He narrowly escaped but lost his coat and shoes and returned home exhausted and ill. His lost clothing was used by Mr. McGregor to make a scarecrow.

2. The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, 1904

Peter's cousin Benjamin took Peter back to Mr.McGregor's garden and recovered the lost coat and shoes. However, after bringing the onion home to Peter's mum, they were caught by Mr. McGregor's cat. Fortunately, Benjamin's dad arrived and rescued them, but also whipped them both as a lesson for running to Mr.McGregor's garden without permission.

In this story, Peter expresses fear and sadness about returning to the garden.

3. The Tale of The Flopsy Bunnies, 1909

Peter is a small character who only appears once in this story. Because of the food shortage, the bunnies had to go to Mr.McGregor's garbage heap to find rotten vegetables to make a living. However, Mr.McGregor caught six bunnies, put them in sacks, and tried to sell them for money.

However, when he was not careful, the six little rabbits were released by the little mouse Thomasina Tittlemouse.

In celebration of The Tale of Peter Rabbit's 110th year, Frederick Warne & Co. commissioned actress, writer, screenwriter and actress Emma Thompson to create The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit.

It tells the story of Peter's arrival in Scotland after a chance ride with the McGregors. This book was released on September 18, 2012.

In 2016, the Royal Mint of the United Kingdom also launched a limited edition coin with a face value of 50P to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Peter Rabbit.
