Cats are one of the most popular pets around the world. In modern history, many famous people also like to have cats. What kind of cats do they raise? This article will introduce several representative figures and their cats.

1. Churchill

British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who loves to read, loved cats very much. He raised a big white cat, and he had to eat with the cat when he ate, otherwise he would lose his appetite and lose his energy.

This great and lovely chief even had a last wish before his death: in the old house of Chartwell, Hope's hometown, there will always be an orange tabby cat named "Jock". In the 50 years since then, there has always been a special cat living a comfortable life in Churchill's old house.

After the British National Historic Places Trust took over the management of the old house from the Churchill family in 1966, it has always strictly abided by Churchill's last wish. After the death of the old Jock, the new Jock will always be arranged. Now it is the fourth generation " Jock".

2. Clinton

Clinton's cat is named SOCKS. It used to be an ordinary stray cat, perhaps by the blessing of the god of fate, Sox was adopted by Clinton's daughter Chelsea as a pet. The back of SOCKS is black, but the four paws are snow-white, as cute as wearing four white socks.

In 1992, when Clinton entered the White House, SOCKS also came to Washington with the first family and was upgraded to "the first cat". During the 8 years in the White House, it followed the owner to appear in public many times; its photo also appeared on the Christmas card of the White House.

3. Hemingway

Hemingway, the great writer of the 20th century, was a crazy writer who loved cats. Perhaps his love for cats was a bit out of tune with his rough appearance, but the fact is that Hemingway had the most cats in his family at one time as high as thirty-four! Hemingway's first cat was Snowball.

The cat has six toes and is said to have been given to Hemingway by a sea captain. All of Hemingway's works were inspired by cats. He has raised more than 30 cats before and after.

At present, there are more than 100 offspring of Snowball in the former residence of West Key Island, Florida, and half of them are polydactyl cats due to recent breeding. These cats are now known as "Hemingway cats".

4. Mark Twain

Masters like Mark Twain and Picasso are also cat lovers. In 1905, the American journalist Alison Nastasi published the book "The Artist and the Cat", which exposed Picasso, Andy Warhol, Bauhaus, and other cat-loving art masters.

Writer Mark Twain's cat named "Bambino" disappeared. He immediately advertised the cat in the newspaper and offered a reward of $5. Fortunately, he finally found it. To this day, some people in the United States post-cat-hunting advertisements and declare that the advertisement is the "Mark Twain genre".

5. Charles Dickens

This master has raised many cats, and his favorite one is named Bob. After Bob's death, Dickens had an ivory letter opener custom-made, with a handle made from Bob's cat's claw. A line was inscribed on the knife – "1862, in memory of Bob".

The knife is currently in the collection of the New York Public Library. In addition, according to the memories of Dickens's daughter, after Bob's death, Dickens had a little deaf cat. When he writes, the kitten is always with him.

If it feels left out for too long, it will find a way to snuff out the candles. The cat was called "The Master's Cat" by Dickens and accompanied him for the last ten years of his life.
