Real Madrid CF is a football club located in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The team was founded on March 6, 1902, formerly known as the Madrid football team.


On June 29, 1920, Alfonso XIII, the then king of Spain, added the word "real" (Spanish, meaning Royal) to the name of the club and added a crown to the badge to promote the development of football in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Since then, the club has officially changed its name to Real Madrid football club.


There are so many world-famous football stars in Real Madrid football club. On December 11th, 2000, it was rated as the greatest team of the 20th century by the International Football Federation (FIFA). On September 10th, 2009, it was rated as the best club in Europe in the 20th century by the International Federation of football history and statistics.


Real Madrid has won 14 Champions League titles (the first in European football), 35 Spanish League A titles (the first in La Liga), 19 Spanish King's Cup titles, 12 Spanish Super Cup titles, 4 European Super Cup titles and 7 Club World Championships (including 4 FIFA Club World Cup titles and the first in the number of titles).


On August 3, 2020, Real Madrid ranked 6th in the world's most valuable sports team top25 in 2020 with a value of US $4.24 billion. In August 2021, Real Madrid ranked first in the 2021 football club brand value list released by Brand Finance. In May 2022, Real Madrid was rated as the world's most valuable club brand by brand finance.
