Tigers are one of the most ferocious carnivores in nature. There are nine subspecies, which vary widely in size and morphology. The Siberian tiger is the largest, with a male body length of 3.7 meters and a weight of 423 kilograms.


The Sumatran tiger is the smallest subspecies in existence. The male tiger is 2.34 meters long and weighs 136 kilograms.


Distribution: distributed in Bangladesh, Bhutan, parts of China, India, Sumatra in Indonesia), Laos, Peninsular Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand.


Tiger characteristics.


The coat is pale yellow or brownish yellow, covered with black stripes; the head is round, the ears are short, the back of the ears is black, and there is a prominent white spot in the center; the limbs are strong and powerful.


Habits of tigers.


1. Activity time.


Tigers are mostly active at dusk or early morning, resting and lurking during the day, but this is different in the cold winter.


2. Scope of activities.


Tigers have a wide range of activities, generally 100-400 square kilometers, and the largest can reach more than 900 square kilometers.


Siberian tigers live in areas with the least prey and the largest range. Female tigers need 400 square kilometers and male tigers need 1,000 square kilometers.


Indian Bengal tigers have a range of only 10 square kilometers for females and 30 square kilometers for males.


3. Residence.


Tigers are solitary animals, and each tiger has its own territory.


When male and female tigers patrol their territory, they raise their tails and spray strong-smelling secretions and urine on tree trunks or bushes to determine their sphere of influence.

4. Predation.


They hunt extremely fiercely, quickly, and decisively, consuming the least amount of energy to get the most harvest.

5. Food intake.


An adult tiger eats an average of about 6 kilograms of meat a day and about 3,500 kilograms of prey a year. But this only refers to tigers kept in zoos.

Tigers have few natural enemies.


7. Hobbies.


Loves water and is good at swimming.
