Of all the breads, croissants are very popular. The puff pastry dough made of butter is made into this sweet and crisp bread, which is crispy and delicious on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside, and enjoys it with coffee, making people feel very happy.

Croissants originated in Austria. According to legend, in the 17th century, Austrian bakers made bread in the shape of a croissant during a celebration, and then the Austrian princess passed this bread to France in the 18th century, and over time it evolved into today's croissant.

The difference between croissant and ordinary bread is that it must be made by hand and baked with less butter, so let's learn how to make croissant at home.

Ingredients:

300g high-gluten flour

1g salt

1 egg

3g yeast

20g butter

30g white sugar

130g milk

1 egg yolk

practice:

1. Put all the ingredients except butter into the bucket of the mixer, and start kneading the dough at medium speed for about 10 minutes.

2. Add the butter and continue to knead, first knead at low speed for 5 minutes, and knead at medium speed for 15 minutes, so that the butter has a process of slowly infiltrating.

3. Take a small piece of dough and gently pull it apart.

4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 1 hour. This can be observed according to your own room temperature.

5. When you see that the dough has risen to twice its size, knead the dough a few times to release the air in the dough. Let stand for another 10 minutes or so to allow the dough to expand more.

6. Roll out the dough into a rectangular pancake and cut out the upper and lower triangles with a knife.

7. Roll down from the side of the wide end, and press the small tip to close the mouth.

8. Cover the rolled bread dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

9. See that the bread has risen to double in size and is fluffy.

10. Spread egg yolk on top and sprinkle some white sesame seeds.

11. Preheat the oven at 150 degrees for 5 minutes in advance. Bake at 150 degrees for 30 minutes.

A good quality croissant, in the shape of a quarter moon, plump and golden on the outside. When we tore a corner of the croissant, the inner layer was honeycomb, soft and crispy, brightly colored and beige.

The croissant is slightly tart and slightly malty, with a balance between butter and wheat aromas. The croissant has a bumpy skin and feels like it can peel off easily. A good-quality croissant must be dry, but the taste will not change the next day.

There are many ways to eat croissants. Not only can they be used directly, but they can also be paired with fruit, etc. Let’s take a look.

1. Add fresh fruit and whipped cream

Cut some fruit you like, such as strawberries or peaches, flatten the croissant into a clip blade attached at one end, stuff it with the fruit, and squeeze the whipped cream on top of the fruit.

Be careful not to cut the croissant completely in half, but connect one end. Think of it as a hot dog bun so it can easily hold fruit and whipped cream without falling apart.

2. Add cheese

Experiment with different cheeses, such as salsa or cheddar, and serve them in a croissant like a sandwich. Cheese and croissants are a great pairing and you're sure to find something you like!

3. Spread salted butter

Cut or tear the croissant into small pieces and spread it with salted butter before eating. Salted butter will enhance the croissant's already buttery taste.

4. Soak in coffee

You can tear the croissant apart, dip the croissant in coffee, such as black coffee or cappuccino, slather it with butter, and enjoy the impact of the palate. Be careful not to leave the croissant in the coffee for too long or it will become soggy and unpalatable.
